Registrations are now open for the CRC for Low Carbon Living's Annual Forum 2017. Join us at Melbourne’s historic Town Hall on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 November 2017 to hear the latest research and evidence for design, planning and policy innovations enabling globally competitive low carbon cities.

Under the banner of Towards Low Carbon Cities, the Forum will feature sessions on:

  • Providing certainty for industry investment in innovation (in partnership with ASBEC)
  • The role of policy and regulation
  • Reliable tools, benchmarks and levers to enable low carbon cities
  • Empowering consumers

Keynote Speakers

The Honourable Robert Doyle AC, Lord Mayor of Melbourne and urban innovation expert Peter Madden OBE (Director, Ecovid, former CEO, Future Cities Catapult, UK) will deliver the local and global perspective on low carbon cities

Peter Madden is Director of Ecovivid, a company advising on smart sustainability. Previously, he was CEO of Future Cities Catapult - a centre of expertise on urban innovation - and of Forum for the Future. He was Head of Policy at the Environment Agency, Ministerial Advisor to the British Government, Director of Green Alliance and Head of Policy at Christian Aid.

He is currently on the Board of the Crown Estate and a member of Ingersoll Rand’s Advisory Council.  He has held positions on the Smart London Board, UK Government Smart Cities Forum, Chair of UK Community Energy Coalition and the Board of South West Regional Development Agency. He received an OBE for services to sustainable development. He writes a monthly column on smart cities for the Huffington Post.
