ClimateClever 2018 Program Launch NSW - you’re invited!

Tuesday, 11 September 2018
Event type:

The ClimateClever program has helped Western Australian school students learn how to measure and reduce their school’s carbon footprint, saving them almost $30,000 collectively on utility bills.

The program’s now being rolled out nationally after the success of its two-year Western Australian pilot, involving 8,729 students, across 15 schools. This resulted in 266 tonnes of carbon emissions being reduced and 3,800 tonnes of carbon emissions offset from a student tree planting program, along with significant energy and water savings.

Now it’s coming to New South Wales (NSW) and you’re invited to the launch of this initiative - a direct result of pilot programs supported by the CRC for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) and Curtin University.

The 2018 ClimateClever initiative is part of the CRCLCL’s latest research, distilled into a highly intelligent, data driven, web-based App and program.

The App helps increase the efficiency and sustainability of school buildings, while providing teaching tools to educate and up-skill the next generation on resource efficiency and low carbon living.

ClimateClever is designed so Australian schools can easily measure and compare their carbon footprint and costs across all four utilities – electricity, gas, water and waste – by identifying building and infrastructure inefficiencies and creating personalised, evidence-based action plans to reduce consumption, costs, and carbon emissions.

Help NSW take a step in the right direction and join us at the launch, to be held at CRCLCL Industry Partner AECOM's premises in Sydney.  Come and hear results from the previous low carbon schools pilot; why schools are a great place to start tackling climate change; and how the new ClimateClever App can help.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Scientia Professor Deo Prasad, CRCLCL Chief Executive Officer

  • Devan Valenti, Technical Developer, Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA)

  • Vanessa Rauland, CRCLCL Project leader and ClimateClever Managing Director

Please feel free to distribute this invitation to interested colleagues.
